Anthony Joshua Targets July Comeback Before Tyson Fury Clash
Hearn Confirms Joshua’s Likely Return Date
Anthony Joshua could return to the ring in July, according to his long-time promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing.
Hearn and Joshua are now actively discussing a comeback plan that could lead to a major showdown later this year.

Two-Fight Deal Could Set Up Fury Showdown
Saudi boxing financier Turki Alalshikh has reportedly offered Joshua a two-fight deal. The proposal includes:
- A comeback fight in July
- A Battle of Britain clash with Tyson Fury in November
Hearn described the plan as the ideal scenario. Speaking to The Ring Magazine, he said:
“Comeback in July and then Fury in November is the dream shot. We are working hard to make it happen.”
Fury Calls Out Joshua After Dominant Win
Tyson Fury returned to action last weekend and secured a dominant points victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov.
After the fight, Fury grabbed the microphone and called out Joshua directly. Joshua, however, stayed calm at ringside and showed little reaction to the challenge.
Joshua’s Interim Opponent Still Undecided
Joshua’s team plans to match him against a credible opponent in July. Hearn confirmed the opponent will be on a similar level to Makhmudov.
Earlier this year, Joshua was linked with:
- Rico Verhoeven
- Deontay Wilder
Wilder recently defeated Derek Chisora, knocking him down twice before winning on points.
Mayweather vs Pacquiao Rematch Hits Major Setback
Confusion Surrounds Fight Agreement
Talks for a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have taken a hit after a key deadline passed.

In February, promoters announced a fully sanctioned fight scheduled for September at The Sphere in Las Vegas, with Netflix expected to distribute the event.
Mayweather’s Comments Spark Contract Issues
In March, Mayweather contradicted earlier announcements during an interview with Vegas Sports Today. He said the fight was not finalized and described it as an exhibition rather than an official bout.
These statements created serious issues for the deal.
Promoter Claims Breach of Agreement
Jas Mathur of MP Promotions stated that Mayweather breached the agreement.
Mathur insisted on a fully sanctioned fight with Mayweather’s undefeated record at stake. He made it clear he would never agree to an exhibition bout.
