It’s official: Boxing’s Biggest Disruptor, International Superstar Gervonta Davis vs. Jake Paul War on the Horizon”

It’s official: Boxing’s biggest disruptor, international superstar, and the WBA’s No. 14 ranked cruiserweight Jake “El Gallo de Dorado” Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) will fight undefeated three-division champion, reigning WBA world champion, and pound-for-pound great Gervonta “Tank” Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs). TLDR: It’s Jake vs. Tank, and it’s going to be a fight for the ages.

The bout will take place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta and will stream live globally on Friday, Nov. 14, only on Netflix, included in all plans.

Paul and Davis, the favorite boxers of Gen Alpha and Gen Z, respectively, have both battled to claim the title of modern boxing’s biggest star, setting the stage for this monumental showdown. Paul enters the bout almost exactly one year after headlining the largest boxing or MMA event in more than four decades, while Davis holds the record for the highest pay-per-view buys and revenue event of the past four years

What to know about Jake “El Gallo de Dorado” Paul:

Jake Paul has evolved from disruptor to legitimate boxing contender in just five years as a pro. With viral knockouts and wins over names like Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz, he’s drawn millions of fans and reshaped the way boxing sells itself.

In 2024, Paul shocked the world by defeating Mike Tyson in the most-watched live professional sporting event in history, a record-shattering broadcast that drew 108 million viewers. He followed it up in June 2025 with a unanimous decision over Julio César Chávez Jr., cracking the WBA cruiserweight rankings at No. 14.

Along the way, Paul has racked up accolades from Sports Illustrated and ESPN while championing fighter pay, elevating women’s boxing, and partnering with USA Boxing to support the next generation.

Now, against pound-for-pound great Davis, he’s aiming to prove he belongs among the sport’s elite.

After Fiery Warning: “Manny Pacquiao Drops Explosive Showdown With Gervonta Davis — But ‘Barrios Comes First’”

LAS VEGAS — If Manny Pacquiao beats WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios on July 19, competition will line up for the chance to face the newly crowned 46-year-old titleholder.
Pacquiao has worked with PBC in his last four fights dating to 2019, and if business is going to continue to boom under Al Haymon’s umbrella, one of the most lucrative fights that can be made in house is between Pacquiao and Gervonta Davis.
Davis is next supposed to face Lamont Roach Jr. following their hotly contested and controversial majority draw in March, but the former was arrested Friday for domestic violence charges that could throw the timing of their Aug. 16 sequel in doubt.
“I like the Davis fight, but let’s finish Barrios first,” Pacquiao told The Ring before the arrest. “It’s nothing personal. I am just doing my job. One at a time. We’ll talk about it after the fight.”

A tilt with Tank has been floated ever since Pacquiao started teasing his comeback in 2023 after retiring two years earlier following a unanimous decision defeat to Yordenis Ugas. At the time, Pacquiao even suggested a 145-pound catchweight to lure in the WBA lightweight champion Davis.
Gervonta davis
Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KOs) and Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) are both 5 foot 5 ½ speedy southpaws with identical reach at 67 inches. Pacquiao, an eight-division champion, has fought exclusively as a welterweight since 2009, while Davis has fought only once above the lightweight limit in recent years, a June 2021 stoppage win against Barrios.
Sean Gibbons, the chief operating officer of Manny Pacquiao Promotions and his right hand man since 2018, told The Ring before Davis’ arrest that matchup was the move to make.
“As for what’s next if Pacquiao beats Barrios, if you look at who’s the biggest draw in American boxing, and who puts the most butts in the most seats, it’s Gervonta Davis,” said Gibbons.
“Gervonta pushes the buttons and is a household name in many ways. Pacquiao and Davis match up very well. For the first time in a long time, Manny would actually be a taller and bigger fighter than his opponent. That’s the dream. We were close at one time to fighting Davis. We were talking but we couldn’t come to an agreement on a couple things and the timing didn’t work out.

“If Pacquiao beats Barrios and Davis beats Roach, I think that’s the fight. The people would be really intrigued. You couldn’t sell it as much before Pacquiao fought Barrios because everyone was saying Gervonta is a beast, but Gervonta got exposed a little bit and had a bad night against Roach, and the shine is off a little bit. If Manny shows brilliance against Barrios, they are going to buy into a Tank fight in a heartbeat.
“Once Manny gets the WBC 147-pound title, it would be a great 47th birthday present to make the fight in December. But everything begins on July 19 against Mario Barrios.”
Pacquiao said even he’s not sure what to expect from himself when he squares off against Barrios (29-2-1, 18 KOs) at MGM Grand in Las Vegas to headline a PBC on Prime Video PPV.
“It’s hard to be judged before the fight, so we will see in the fight,” he said. “You know me, and how I train — I always punish myself to the limit. I always bring surprises to my opponents.”

Angel Reese Sparks Uproar With Explosive Take on Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis After Controversial Draw

WNBA superstar Angel Reese was one of the many watching Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis fight to a draw against Lamont Roach.

The boxing world had its focus centered on Gervonta “Tank” Davis during his March 1 fight against Lamont Roach for the WBA lightweight championship.

Tank Davis has solidified himself as one of the biggest superstars in the entire sport of boxing, as he entered the fight against Roach with a perfect 30-0 professional record that includes 28 KOs. Some of his most notable victories came against Ryan Garcia, Rolando Romero, and Isaac Cruz.

And given that Davis entered Saturday’s bout as a -1600 favorite against Roach, very few people believed that the 29-year-old Roach would be able to put up a solid fight against the reigning champion.

Jake Paul Gervonta Davis

As a result of his success, Davis has amassed a massive fanbase in America. And according to a March 1 X post from Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese, she was also rooting for Davis during his fight.

While Angel Reese isn’t well known in the boxing community, she has quickly become one of the biggest stars in the basketball world after her successful rookie season in the WNBA. However, she is perhaps best known for her rivalry with Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark, which stems from Reese taunting her during the 2023 NCAA National Championship game.

Jake Paul has contractual clause added to Gervonta Davis fight to silence critics

Jake Paul is out to bust the myth that he is on performance-enhancing drugs.

‘The Problem Child’ has faced unfounded claims throughout his boxing career that banned substances have fueled his success.

Heading into his upcoming clash against Gervonta Davis on September 14, Paul is aiming to silence his detractors by signing up for random drug testing with the gold standard of anti-doping bodies, USADA.

JUST IN: Terence Crawford’s nutritionist says he knows how to cheat, but

“Don’t worry, for all of you Karens who accuse me of being on steroids as the reason for winning all of my fights, we have the strictest drug testing possible for this match,” Paul said in a recent YouTube video.

“US Anti-Doping Agency. Random drug tests at any moment.”

Who are USADA?

USADA were the official anti-doping authority for the UFC between 2015 and 2024.

A dispute over Conor McGregor’s eligibility to rejoin the UFC’s roster following a period of absence from USADA’s drug testing pool led to the end of a nine-year partnership.

Despite this, the impact of USADA on cleaning up the UFC cannot be overstated.

Before USADA came on board, PED use was a serious problem.

However, USADA’s meticulous random drug testing protocol and harsher punishments led to a significant decrease in the sport’s biggest issue.

Paul bringing USADA on board for his next fight with Davis is a serious statement of intent, even if the bout itself is unlikely to be taken seriously by hardcore fans.

What are the rules for Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis?

Due to the massive size disparity between the pair, the bout is likely to take place under an exhibition format.

Paul has spent the majority of his career competing at cruiserweight (200lbs) and has boxed as heavy as 227lbs.

Davis, on the other hand, is a natural lightweight (135lbs) who fought at super lightweight (140lbs) once.

The official rules are yet to be confirmed; however, Paul stated earlier this year that the fight would take place over 10 three-minute rounds.

He also suggested that a weight restriction of 195lbs would be enforced on his end, while Davis would have to get as close to that weight as possible.

Besides the exhibition tag, the rules are expected to resemble those of a professional contest, even if there is no official scoring.

Floyd Mayweather’s Forgotten Advice to Gervonta Davis Resurfaces Amid Jake Paul Fight Buzz

Who could have predicted that the decision Floyd Mayweather made on a random day in 2015 would change the boxing world forever? Signing a young, up-and-coming fighter like Gervonta Davis, who had fewer than 10 fights at the time, was certainly a gamble. But it turned out to be one of Mayweather’s best investments. The Baltimore southpaw’s meteoric rise to superstardom is undeniable, and Mayweather played a major role in shaping that journey. Yet, in recent years, their relationship has soured. Since their split, both men have traded subtle shots at each other online, hinting at a rift that runs deeper than business.

As Mayweather marked his 48th birthday, Gervonta Davis seemed to take another dig at his former promoter, posting a training clip captioned: “Life is better when you’re gone and I don’t need ya… #TheONE.” Now, with Tank Davis choosing to face Jake Paul instead of pursuing the Lamont Roach Jr. rematch, an old piece of advice from Mayweather has resurfaced, suggesting that Tank may simply be carrying forward the mindset instilled in him by his former mentor. So what did Mayweather say?

Why Gervonta Davis needs to trust his heart

Yesterday, Boxing Pro took to X to share a TikTok clip with the caption: “Gervonta Tank Davis really just followed the Floyd Mayweather blueprint 💯 💰🐐 #TBE #TankPaul.” The video showed a young Davis on Mayweather’s private jet, seated beside his mentor and listening closely. In the clip, Mayweather offered advice, saying: “If you doing good, they got something to say. If you’re doing bad, they got something to say. So do what makes you happy. Because you see this jet? You see this private jet that we on? I got it because I did what the fu-k I wanted to do.”

Mayweather, whose net worth is reported at $400 million according to Celebrity Net Worth, remains the richest boxer of all time. Just last year, he invested $402 million in a 1,000-unit affordable housing project in Upper Manhattan, featuring 62 buildings. Alongside that, he owns a $40 million car collection and two private jets. For Money Mayweather, the key to all of it was living life and running his career on his own terms. As he told young Davis: “I made over a billion dollars, you know why? Because I did what the fu-k I wanted to do. I am gonna always tell Tank, do what the fu-k you wanna do.”

The undefeated legend also shared a reminder about the burden of success. Speaking directly to Davis, he said, “You always remember this, jealousy comes with success. Anytime you successful, people gonna be jealous of you. People not always gonna like you. Sometimes when you in class, some people don’t like you. When you in school, right? But that don’t stop you from going right? And you still going to be your best, right? So same thing like my job. I still go there and be at my best. As long as you love me, can’t nobody beat me.”

Now, Gervonta Davis is under fire from boxing purists for accepting a bizarre matchup against Jake Paul, with a staggering 65-pound gap. If the 30-0 boxer is truly following Mayweather’s advice, it suggests he wants to retire undefeated, transition into exhibitions, and maximize earnings. The danger, however, is that, unlike Mayweather, who left behind an untouchable legacy, Gervonta Davis risks walking away with unfinished business. By choosing this path, he could avoid high-stakes showdowns with Shakur Stevenson or even a rematch with Lamont Roach. With his exhibition against Jake Paul now officially set for November 14, 2025, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, streaming live on Netflix, the move has drawn heavy criticism. And now, a veteran journalist has gone so far as to condemn the spectacle, calling it a heartbreaking symbol of American boxing’s collapse.

Caution or collapse? The career gamble facing Gervonta Davis

A few days ago, Denis Shkuratov of Submission Radio sat down with veteran journalist Luke Thomas and asked for his thoughts on the upcoming Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis fight. Without hesitation, Thomas responded: “By and large, Jake Paul’s fights su-k a–.” He elaborated, saying: “Everyone knows the score. If they were the same size, Gervonta would lay him out pretty easily. But they’re not. There’s a gigantic difference.” Thomas then posed the question: “Like again, who has got better boxing skill?” before answering it himself: “Gervonta by a million miles.” He added, “And if it’s an exhibition, I don’t think it goes on the record, or maybe they’ll fudge the rule somehow. But dude, Jake Paul could win that.”

However, what shocked Thomas most wasn’t Jake Paul’s skill but the potential outcome being dictated by size. He admitted, “That’s kind of crazy to think. Not because he is better, but because again the advantage concerned is the enormous size difference. It’s interesting… but it just feels like—Jesus, this is the best you can do in American boxing? That is bad.” And bad? Yes, Thomas made it clear he believes its very bad.

For context, Gervonta Davis was already a rising star at 18, winning the 2012 National Golden Gloves Championship, while The Problem Child at that time was building a following on Vine, amassing 5.3 million fans and over 2 billion views by 2015, without any ties to boxing. Although Paul has undeniably improved since turning professional in 2020, a fight with Gervonta Davis does nothing to advance his pursuit of a world title. Instead, it looks more like a money grab than a quest for greatness. In Thomas’ eyes, that’s why it represents the collapse of American boxing.

Jaron Ennis Hints at Dire Consequences: Facing  Joshua Could Be Ward’s Most Dangerous Move Yet

Anthony Joshua: Andre Ward is incredibly happy with the decision he made to walk away from boxing in 2017. But we now know the Hall of Famer wouldn’t mind jumping back into the ring for a massive fight.
“Me and Anthony Joshua,” Ward said on a self-recorded video earlier this month. “That’s a fight I would take at Wembley Stadium.”
Ward is typically your favorite fighter’s favorite fighter
Jaron Ennis is among that group. The Philly star grew up watching Ward dominate in the ring. He also watched in awe as Ward grabbed back-to-back wins over Sergey Kovalev in 2016 and 2017, respectively
At the time, Ward (32-0, 16 KOs) was the consensus number one pound-for-pound fighter in the sport and a unified 175-pound champion. Those days, however, were nearly a decade ago. With the now 41-year-old opting to retire immediately after, Ennis doesn’t like the thought of him returning. He certainly doesn’t like the possibility of him ending his near 10-year retirement to fight a gigantic, hard-hitting heavyweight star like Joshua.

“I don’t like it,” Ennis told YSM Sports Media. “I think he should stay retired. Anthony Joshua, that’s a big dude.”
Joshua has been on Ward’s mind for years now. Following his win over Kovalev, Ward and his team admitted that a showdown against Joshua, with a preparatory fight against Tony Bellew first, was the plan.

Life, nevertheless, got in the way, as Ward chose to retire instead, citing knee issues.
During Ward’s time away from the game, Joshua’s career has ebbed and flowed. A two-time unified champion, e’s been at the top of the heavyweight mountain with wins over Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker. and Andy Ruiz Jr. He’s also hit rock bottom, most recently thanks to his crushing fifth-round knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois.
Now, the 35-year-old is sitting back and weighing his options. Though it’s unlikely, Ward could get the call. If he does, however, Ennis doesn’t believe he should answer.
“Andre Ward has the skills to pull it off, but that’s a big guy,” Ennis said. “We don’t know if we can take Joshua’s punch. I think he should stay retired and enjoy the fruits of his labor.”

“Gervonta Davis Declares “I’m fearless no limits here” as He Explains Jake Paul Showdown in Five Words”

Gervonta “Tank” Davis has never been one to mince words, but his latest statement may be his boldest yet. When asked why he agreed to face internet star-turned-boxer Jake Paul, Davis needed just five words: “I’m fearless — no limits here.”

That simple declaration has already sent shockwaves across the boxing world. In an era where words carry nearly as much weight as punches, Davis’ choice of phrase is being seen as both a warning to Jake Paul and a reminder to the sport that the undefeated champion is ready to prove his dominance on any stage, against any opponent.

For months, speculation swirled about Jake Paul’s next move. Having built his name on a mix of social media charisma, celebrity boxing spectacles, and a growing resume inside the ring, Paul has managed to attract global attention—while also stirring controversy among traditional fight fans. Many doubted whether a fighter of Davis’ caliber would entertain such a matchup.

Yet Davis, known for his explosive power and relentless fighting style, stunned the boxing community when he not only accepted but embraced the challenge. His five-word statement reveals more than just confidence—it reflects a mindset that has fueled his career: fearless ambition.

More Than a Spectacle

Some critics argue that Davis stepping into the ring with Paul risks reducing boxing to entertainment. Others see it differently. To them, Davis is seizing an opportunity to showcase his dominance on a global platform that Jake Paul has carefully crafted through showmanship and viral promotion.

By saying “I’m fearless,” Davis is signaling that he is unconcerned with criticism, unbothered by spectacle, and uninterested in protecting an image. Instead, he is leaning into the moment, prepared to prove that no amount of hype or popularity can outweigh elite skill.

Jake Paul has thrived on rattling opponents before they ever step into the ring. His ability to use press conferences, social media antics, and mind games has given him an edge in past fights. But Davis’ blunt declaration cuts straight through that.

By summarizing his mindset in just five words, Davis projects an aura of calm dominance. To fans and analysts, it feels less like a soundbite and more like a warning. Unlike others who have faced Paul, Davis seems immune to the circus atmosphere.

What’s at Stake

The fight promises more than just a payday. For Paul, it represents validation—a chance to prove he belongs in the same ring as an established champion. For Davis, it is about cementing his legacy as a fighter unafraid of challenges, whether they come from seasoned veterans or unconventional stars.

Gervonta davis

Victory would reaffirm his place among boxing’s elite while silencing any doubts about his willingness to embrace risk. A loss, though unlikely in the eyes of most analysts, would shock the sport and shift the conversation around crossover boxing forever.

As the buildup intensifies, one thing is certain: Gervonta Davis has made his intentions clear. He isn’t stepping into the ring for money alone, nor for fame. His fight against Jake Paul is about something deeper—demonstrating that fear has no place in the heart of a champion.

Jake Paul: “If Davis Triumphs, It Could Signal a Passing of the Torch — Launching Him Into Global Stardom and Etching His Name Among Boxing’s Elite”

The world of boxing thrives on drama, rivalries, and the weight of words, and few personalities stir that pot better than Jake Paul. Known as both a disruptive force and an unlikely contender in the sport, Paul has once again made headlines — this time with a pointed remark about Gervonta “Tank” Davis and his looming legacy-defining battles.

Paul, never one to bite his tongue, declared that a victory for Davis in his next marquee fight would be far more than a win; it could serve as a symbolic “passing of the torch,” ushering Davis into a realm of superstardom and forever anchoring his name among the sport’s greats.

Paul’s comment cuts to the heart of what makes Davis’s career so fascinating right now. At 29, Davis is undefeated and already regarded as one of boxing’s most explosive knockout artists. But in a sport where legacy is measured not just in records but in seismic moments, the stage is set for Davis to step beyond dominance and into history.

“If Davis wins, it won’t just be another check in the win column,” Paul insisted. “This is about him taking over the sport, carrying the torch forward, and showing the world he’s not just a star — he’s the star.”

Gervonta davis

Jake Paul has often been dismissed as an outsider — a YouTuber-turned-boxer with a knack for promotion. But his ability to frame storylines and spark conversations has undeniably changed how the fight game is discussed. When Paul weighs in on Davis, people listen, if only because his words blur the line between hype and truth.

By casting Davis as the heir apparent to boxing greatness, Paul has raised the stakes. His remarks fuel anticipation, not only for Davis’s upcoming fights but also for the broader narrative of whether he can truly carry boxing into its next golden era.

Davis at the Crossroads

Davis’s path is clear: high-profile names, risky matchups, and opportunities to cement his place in the history books. Fans speculate about possible clashes with the likes of Ryan Garcia, Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, and even Manny Pacquiao. Each potential fight carries danger, but each also holds the possibility of becoming the night that defines his career.

Jake Paul’s comment, then, reflects more than opinion. It underscores the pivotal moment Davis is in — a point where every punch carries not only the weight of the fight but also the weight of a legacy in the making.

The phrase “passing of the torch” resonates deeply in boxing. It speaks to generational battles: Muhammad Ali to Larry Holmes, Oscar De La Hoya to Floyd Mayweather, Mayweather to the current wave of stars. Davis now finds himself on the cusp of writing the next chapter in that lineage.

For Davis, a defining victory would symbolize not just personal success but the changing of an era — from the veterans who once ruled the sport to a new force ready to dominate.

Tyson fury

What makes this moment unique is the convergence of power, personality, and timing. Davis has the devastating knockout ability that thrills fans, the charisma to draw crowds, and the perfect opponents lined up to elevate his story. Add Jake Paul’s voice — an amplifier of hype and controversy — and the spotlight burns brighter than ever.

All eyes are on the negotiations and announcements in the coming months. Whether it’s a showdown with Pacquiao, a blockbuster against Garcia, or a clash with Stevenson, every fight Davis takes will be judged against Paul’s prediction: is this the night the torch is passed?

For now, the boxing world waits, debates, and anticipates. Jake Paul may have thrown the words out into the public, but it will be Davis’s fists that determine whether those words ring true.

One thing is certain: if Davis triumphs, the sport of boxing may never look the same again.

Tank Has Never Shied Away From Bold Statements, But This Time, His Focus Is Sharper Than Ever

In the often-chaotic world of boxing, few fighters capture attention the way Gervonta “Tank” Davis does. Known for his knockout power inside the ropes and his outspoken nature outside of them, Davis has built a reputation as both a showman and a destroyer. But today, as the boxing landscape shifts and rivalries heat up, there is a sense that Davis is entering a new chapter — one defined by a sharper, more unrelenting focus than ever before.

From the beginning, Davis’s rise in professional boxing has been tied to bold statements and even bolder performances. He’s never been content to let his fists do all the talking; his confidence often echoes long before the opening bell. Whether calling out established champions or brushing aside doubts about his size and weight-class dominance, Davis has consistently positioned himself as the fighter to watch — and the fighter to fear.

Now, as speculation grows about potential blockbuster matchups, Davis’s words have taken on a new edge. His declarations are no longer just bravado; they’re promises backed by a fighter entering his prime years with the hunger to cement his legacy.

“Focus” is the word that keeps surfacing in conversations around Davis. Insiders close to the Baltimore-born star insist he has tightened his training, cut back on distractions, and honed his mindset toward nothing less than greatness. In an era where fighters often juggle fame, outside ventures, and personal struggles, Davis seems intent on proving that his attention is locked on the sport that made him a star.

Anthony Joshua

“Tank is dialed in,” one source close to his camp shared. “He’s not just preparing for the next fight — he’s preparing to take over the sport.”

For Davis, who has already captured multiple world titles across weight classes, this renewed intensity signals that the biggest battles of his career are still to come.

The whispers of potential showdowns with the likes of Ryan Garcia, Shakur Stevenson, and even legends like Manny Pacquiao have electrified the boxing world. And while these fights come with risks, Davis appears to welcome them with open arms.

He has always thrived under the spotlight, but what sets this moment apart is his insistence that no challenge is too big, no opponent too experienced, and no legacy too untouchable. If boldness was his trademark before, it now feels like a mission statement: Gervonta Davis intends not just to participate in history, but to rewrite it.

Fans have long admired Davis for his destructive left hand and highlight-reel knockouts. But the fighter himself seems intent on showing that his growth goes beyond the physical. His focus now extends to discipline, preparation, and the mental toughness needed to dominate not just a division, but an era.

Observers point out that this evolution is critical. Talent alone wins fights, but greatness comes from the fusion of skill, mindset, and timing. Davis appears to understand that better than ever.

For Davis, the stakes could not be higher. He’s undefeated, but greatness is measured not only by an unblemished record — it’s measured by the names on the résumé, the nights that define a career, and the moments when pressure turns into legacy.

A focused Gervonta Davis has the potential to deliver all of that and more. And as he sharpens his sights on the challenges ahead, fans can sense that the bold statements we’ve heard for years might finally be backed by a legacy-defining stretch in the ring.

The boxing world has always expected fireworks from “Tank.” But this time, it feels different. This time, there’s more than just power and swagger. There’s a sense of destiny — a fighter locking in at the peak of his abilities, determined to prove that his era has truly arrived.

Gervonta Davis has never shied away from making bold statements. But today, as his focus sharpens like never before, those statements carry the weight of inevitability.
